Gilles Vandenoostende

Hi, I'm Gilles Vandenoostende - designer, illustrator and digital busybody with a love of language, based in Ghent, Belgium.

  • A low-poly cow-skull in wireframe: 3D render.

  • A low-poly cow-skull in wireframe: I actually had this printed using SLS at Shapeways. Like it? You can buy it at my store.

  • Close up of the wireframe cow-skull.

  • An iPad Pro stand I designed while awaiting the release of the AZERTY keyboard-cover, in two iterations. The second is more stable and uses less material.

  • Darth Christ. A little spielerei, combining a 3D scanned statue of Jesus I bought at a carboot-sale somewhere and Darth Vader's iconic helmet. Mild copyright infringement ahoy!

3D Printing Projects 2015

In 2014 I backed the Micro3D Kickstarter, and about 18 months later I finally got my very own 3D Printer, capable of printing about 10cm3 of plastic… anything, really. After a lot of fiddling I managed to get the little thing calibrated and working well enough to make some stuff. And make stuff I did.

So here's a collection of some of the things I created in 2015.

I also set up a Shapeways store for shits and giggles where I'm going to be selling some selected pieces such as the cow-skull.

You can also download the iPad Pro stand from my Thingiverse page for free and print it yourself if you want.
